Dr. Blum is an NIH funded investigator and recognized expert in perioperative ARDS. He received national awards from the IARS and SOCCA. He served on several committees at SCCM, USCIITG, and has been an invited lecturer at multiple institutions, USCIITG, SCCM, IARS, and ASA. He is an active reviewer for multiple journals in both anesthesiology and critical care medicine. Blum is recognized as a national leader in critical care. His research focuses on perioperative lung injury and large datasets for outcomes research and waveform analysis.
